Monday, April 13 at 6 PM PST, Jack Dorsey, co-founder and CEO of Twitter, will join Pastor Michael McBride, director of the LIVE FREE Campaign, and W. Kamau Bell, CNN host and comedian, on Instagram Live for an announcement around their new campaign, Masks for the People.

This campaign was launched last week with a social media broadcast on Monday, April 6th.

Black and Brown communities comprise a disproportionate number of Americans with underlying health conditions and a frayed safety net. They are more likely to be sick, without health coverage and without access to stable housing and protection. Masks for the People was born from the idea that leaders in directly impacted communities must begin to develop supply chains and information systems to help overcome these barriers. The campaign, which launched last week and is a joint project of LIVE FREE and Black Church Action Fund, seeks to secure free masks, sanitizers and testing kits to communities who are otherwise unable to access them.

Host speakers for the Masks for the People event will be: Pastor Michael McBride, nationally renowned civil rights leader, LIVE FREE director W. Kamau Bell, Host, CNN’s United Shades of America and stand-up comedian Jack Dorsey, co-founder and CEO.

The LIVE FREE Campaign is a campaign of Faith in Action, the largest grassroots, faith-based organizing network in the United States. LIVE FREE is committed to ending structural discrimination and the mass criminalization of people of color by mobilizing the faith community to reduce the number of gun-related shootings and homicides, decrease the number of individuals incarcerated and increase opportunity for those caught in these deadly cycles.
