In an interview on Tuesday, Attorney General William Barr said the Justice Department did not uncover so-called voting fraud at a scale that could have changed the outcome of the presidential election result.

Kristen Clarke, president and executive director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, issued the following statement:

“As President Trump continues to use the courts to pursue baseless post-election lawsuits, we are pleased to see Attorney General Barr acknowledge the fact that fraud did not impact this election. Barr’s statements create needed distance between the Justice Department and President Trump’s post-election attacks on our democratic process. The uncontroverted fact is that there is no fraud in our elections and this has been repeatedly confirmed by DHS, the FBI, cybersecurity officials, and state and local election officials.”

Editor's Note: It is a sad commentary when it takes Attorney General Barr nearly a month to admit Donald Trump didn't lose the election because of fraud. The questions is now being asked: will Barr be fired by Trump tweet?

Some are now cheering Barr--which should tell us just how politicized American institutions have become under Trump. Barr, who is not as intellectual challenged as Trump, surely knows he can't cry and whine about voter fraud without evidence--like Donald Trump.
