The following analysis, on Trump’s Second Impeachment and on the question of whether he should be allowed to run for election again, was done by the Invisibly data research company.

The Trump impeachment trial has garnered a lot of attention, both in politics and beyond, and for good reason. The outcome impacted Trump’s reputation and was also a deciding factor on if he would be allowed to run for election again in the future.

Invisibly used it’s Realtime Research tool to poll 1217 Americans to find out public sentiment on the outcome, and learn if people feel he should have been convicted or not.

Here’s what Invisibly learned:

  • 49% said he should have been convicted. When broken down by political party: 81% of strong Democrats and 87% of moderate Democrats said he should have been convicted. 88% of strong Republicans and 82% of moderate Republicans said he should not be convicted.
  • 56% felt he should NOT be allowed to run for office again. When broken down by political party: 79% of strong Democrats and 88% of moderate Democrats said he should NOT be allowed to run for president again. 77% of strong Republicans and 76% of moderate Republicans felt he should be allowed to run for president again.
  • Age played a major role in how strong party affiliation is: 64% of strong Democrats and 47% of strong Republicans are between 18-24 years old.

This data really makes us wonder, would people have had a different opinion on conviction if they knew a conviction would prevent Trump from running for president again?

Invisibly Realtime Research™ polling differs from traditional polling or online surveys and have proven to be extremely accurate at predicting behavior. In fact, Invisibly came the closest in accurately predicting the Presidential election results: FiveThirtyEight polls were off by 38 electoral votes. Invisibly was only off by 4 electoral votes.
