Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump, the parents of Keyon Harrold Jr., and Reverend Al Sharpton will hold a news conference on Monday, Jan. 11 at 11 a.m. ET, at City Hall, to provide an update in the case following the arrest of Miya Ponsetto.
Color of Change will also be in attendance to address the pervasive issue of racial profiling. Keyon Harrold Jr., a 14-year-old Black minor, was attacked and accused of stealing Ponsetto’s cell phone in the lobby of the Arlo SoHo hotel, where the Harrolds were staying as guests.
Her cell phone was later found in an Uber.
