The Lincoln Project is today announcing an event partnership with Revolt Black News and AXSD Media to host a panel discussion, “VOTE OR DIE: The Black Male Impact”, co-sponsored by Grassroots Law Project.

The event aims to galvanize Black men to vote in the upcoming November 3rd election, and beyond. The event is hosted by Big Tigger and featured speakers include several leading Black male entertainers and activists including Offset, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Yellopain, Lee Merritt, Bakari Sellers.

Tune into the event at 3:00 pm ET on LPTV here.

“I think it’s important I speak to my fellow young Black men about voting because I was in the same shoes as so many of them. I didn’t think my vote mattered, because society tells us we don’t, so I never voted until this year. But it’s never too late to get involved, and the best time to start is now,” said rapper and songwriter, Kiari “Offset” Cephus.

Lincoln Project Press Secretary Nate Nesbitt noted, “One of the reasons an event like this is so important is because young Black voters, especially men, have been disenfranchised and excluded for so long that we’ve become apathetic towards voting and our default assumption is that our vote has little to no power. The tide needs to turn and that’s why we’ll continue to pour all our efforts into empowering our people, and Black men in particular, to exercise our right to vote.”

Driven by police brutality and racial injustice, Black voters have already begun to turn out in record numbers during early voting. Black communities will be crucial to determining the victor in several key states including Georgia, Florida, and Wisconsin.

Although President Trump has repeatedly claimed he’s done more for Black Americans than any President since Lincoln, voters recognize this as an outright lie. Polling shows Black Americans are highly motivated to ensure Donald Trump is a one-term president, as it is the first step the nation must take to begin to heal.
