Where She’s From: Shan’Tessa Mitchell, whose Zodiac sign is Cancer, was born and raised in a very small town down in the Delta of Mississippi called Indianola and she currently resides in Dallas, Texas.

“I have to tell people when they ask me where I am from that it’s the home of B.B. King, and still no one really knows where that is,â€? she tells The Black Star News, with a laugh. “I’ve learned so many lessons growing up in my home—the most important lesson that I’ve learned was to never take life for granted. Live life to the fullest and be blessed while you’re living out your dream.â€?

Shan’Tessa graduated from Gentry High School and congratulated her Lady Rams Basketball team for going all the way to the top this year. “I started my career in high school going to different malls and doing little mall fashion shows and modeling contests,â€? she adds. “I also went to Model Search America and was rejected for the first time, another life lesson that I’ve learned, which is how to take and handle rejection.â€?

The young model attended Hinds Community College in Raymond, MS, where I graduated with an Associates Degree in Speech Pathology; she then went to Delta State University in Cleveland, MS, where she started out in Speech Pathology before changing to her current love, nursing.


Where She’s At:
“I see my modeling career picking up in a big way in the next year or two and finally getting to meet the many people I admire, including Tyra Banks and Sanaa Lathan,�

Shan’Tessa continues. “My all time dream is to be Victoria‘s Secret model and walk the runways all over the world. One of the many challenges I had to face was adjusting from small town life to big city living and getting myself noticed in a very competitive industry.â€?

 

Where She’s Heading: “I am very proud that I am working with Bridgemark Model’s located in Desoto, Texas,â€? Shan’Tessa says. “We are launching a new sports, swimsuit and men’s magazine which will hit news stands real soon. I will be featured as one of the models in that magazine. So how does this young beauty prepare to step out? “My favorite brands of clothing are Dere’on, Babyphat, and Guess Jeans. I love Olay quench body lotion, MAC and Mary Kay makeup. To clean my face, I use purpose facial cleaner and Sea Breeze sensitive skin. I love Fructis shampoo as well as Herbal Essences and Pantene shampoo. My all time favorite perfume is Very Sexy by Victoria‘s Secret, Ralph by Ralph Lauren, and Clinique Happy. Also, I love Nike’s—got to have my Airmax and Shox, those are the only two kinds of gym shoes I wear.â€?
